[Ite-lnx-announce] Förändringar av åtkomst till tjänster på LiU / Changes in access to LiU services

Med anledning av tisdagens nyhet om förhöjd risk för IT-attacker finns även förändringar som påverkar Linux-användare.

I Linux-miljön är det än så länge bara den officiella "Forticlient VPN" som klarar de nya kraven på SSO-anslutning. Det finns rpm eller deb att hämta från Fortinets hemsida. Se vidare information på intranätet (https://liuonline.sharepoint.com/sites/intranet-it/SitePages/FortiClient-VPN-uppdateras.aspx).

Krav på användning av flerfaktorsautentisering har tillkommit på fler tjänster. Det innebär att VPN nu krävs för att komma åt exempelvis ssh.liu.se. Dessa krav och tekniska lösningar kan komma att anpassas senare men har införts med omedelbar verkan på grund av den nuvarande situationen.

Related to the Tuesday news item on increased risk of IT attacks, there are also changes that affect Linux users.

So far the official "Forticlient VPN" is the only vpn client that meets the new requirements for SSO connection. Packages (rpm or deb) can be download from Fortinet's website. See further information on the intranet (https://liuonline.sharepoint.com/sites/intranet-it/SitePages/en/FortiClient-VPN-uppdateras.aspx).

Several additional services now require multi-factor authentication. This means that VPN is now required to access e.g. ssh.liu.se. These requirements and technical solutions may be adapted later but have been introduced with immediate effect due to the current situation.
