A gentle reminder. Last day to register for LiU Design Talks is Friday, Sep 25, and please remember to indicate which of the audiences/themes you would be interested in working with for the parallel workshop parts.

Join us at LiU Design Talks 2020!

The annual LiU Design Talks event takes place on Wednesday, Sep 30, as previously announced. The tentative time slot is 9:15 to 16:00. This year's theme is community and visibility.
We would like to focus this year's event on the different "audiences" of LiU Design activities, and what we could and should do for the respective audiences. Here is a tentative list of distinct audiences.

1.       The core community of LiU Design: Everyone doing design and studying design at LiU.

2.       The prospective students of LiU design educations.

3.       The international academic communities of design research and design education.

4.       The international design profession.

5.       The enterprise sectors needing and using design ("industry", public sector, innovation, etc).

6.       The general public.
We start the day with a couple of inspirational keynote talks on the topic of community and visibility for an academic design environment.
Then comes the main part of LiU Design Talks 2020: a set of parallel workshops, each addressing one of the audiences of LiU Design activities, and taking off from questions such as "What characterizes this audience? What message do we want to send to them? What do we want to do for them? How do we accomplish that?"
We close by coming back to a plenary format to hear and discuss the results from the parallel workshops.
Sometime during the day, there may also be a short commons meeting to share some information of general interest, talk about practical things, set meeting dates for the upcoming academic year, etc.

LiU Design Talks 2020 is held as a remote event. We send a link upon confirmation of registration.

Please register via email to jonas.lowgren at liu.se<mailto:jonas.lowgren at liu.se> no later than Friday, Sep 25, and indicate in your email which of the audiences you would be most interested in working with. Feel free to list more than one preference.
