Dear all,

Welcome to a seminar at Campus Norrköping or on zoom

Thursday 22th of February 13:15-15:00 (Tvärsnittet KH557)

Tema Q Public Seminar: Anders Högberg “Futures Literacy, why it might be important for Heritage Studies and heritage practices”

Recently, Heritage Studies and Futures Studies have begun to explore mutual cross-disciplinary topics. Futurologist Richard Sandford (UCL) for example, argues that it is vital to engage with heritage when thinking about the future as “heritage is a fundamentally anticipatory practice”. To understand future-related qualities of Heritage Studies and heritage practices, knowledge needs to be developed that help us to recognise what kind of impact on the future Heritage Studies and heritage practices actually may have. In my talk, I will draw on a decay of research on future related topics, to discuss Futures Literacy and why it is important to Heritage Studies and heritage practice in managing the relations between present and future societies.
