the strategies of the humanities at Swedish universities, LiU Humanities together with Humtank invites you to a discussion of the opportunities and challenges of the humanities at LiU. </span></span><span lang="EN-US"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="xmsonormal" style="margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:105%"><span class="contentpasted0"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Leelawadee UI",sans-serif">At LiU, the breadth and variety of different strands of the humanities
makes us think of how to accommodate all of them in the best way. Considering LiU's tradition of interdisciplinary environments and institutions, are there even any strategic advantages to distinguishing the humanities from its next of kins interpretative
social sciences or inter- or postdisciplinary forms of inquiry? The changing research policy landscape, both nationally and locally at LiU, also raises a series of questions on the role and space of the humanities with their specific publishing and collaboration
practices in resource distribution models, priorities, quality and development work. How do LiU's university, faculty and department administration view humanities in relation to the overall national university policy, for example, the new resource distribution
model based on profile areas? What place is given to the humanities in the implementation of the LiU's Strategy 2030? How does LiU face the exiting challenges with funding humanities education outside the large and popular programs? </span></span><span lang="EN-US"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
