Housing Segregation and the Challenge
of Building Sustainable Migration Policies (7,5 ECTS)

The implementation of efficient migration policies lies at the core of the transformation into sustainable societies on a global scale. Yet, there is currently little agreement on a “best practice” and consequently notable disparities in migration policy across European nation-states, both at the national and local level of government, resulting in a variety of policy structures and approaches to refugee reception and housing. The course explores state-of-the-art research on integration, segregation, and housing, with an empirical focus on the Swedish context in combination with international examples.
