</strong>In all three positions, applicants must be prepared to carry out their work in an academic context that rewards integrated collegial collaboration with an interdisciplinary approach. Postgraduate students are expected to carry out their studies on
site at the Norrköping Campus, Linköping University. Anyone employed as a graduate student must primarily engage in postgraduate studies. However, a student may be requested to do a limited amount of teaching, administration, and research assistance. Such
work may comprise no more than 20 percent of full working hours.</p>

reveals itself in times of crises. It is a collaboration between six Swedish universities including Linnaeus University, Linköping University, Lund University, Södertörn University, University of Gothenburg and Uppsala University. PhD positions are financed

</strong>The Institute for Research on Migration, Ethnicity and Society (REMESO) carries out research, undergraduate and postgraduate eduction within Ethnic and Migration Studies or International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER). REMESO is one of the university’s
priority research areas. Since 2008 REMESO’s PhD education is integrated with an international Graduate School in Migration, Ethnicity and Society.</p>
<p style="margin:0px 0px 0.75rem" class="ContentPasted0">The Institute for Research on Migration, Ethnicity and Society (REMESO), founded in 2008, consists of some 15 active researchers and 5–10 doctoral students. Research is combined with teaching within IKOS
and adjacent departments within Linköping university.</p>
<p style="margin:0px 0px 0.75rem" class="ContentPasted0">The REMESO Institute develops research on phenomena such as international migration, including forced and irregular migration, nationalism, citizenship, ethnic relations, and diversity, as well as on
social, ethnic and economic inclusion, discrimination and racism. The institute examines these issues in relation to processes of globalization and European integration and to transformations of labour markets, nation states and welfare society. REMESO’s research
profile also covers projects in which migration and ethnicity are related to gender dimensions, colonial and postcolonial histories, social movements, urban segregation, education, health and medicine.</p>
<p style="margin:0px 0px 0.75rem" class="ContentPasted0">For the positions as doctoral student in Ethnic and Migration Studies we are interested in recruiting candidates from different disciplinary backgrounds within the humanities, social sciences or medicine.</p>
<p style="margin:0px 0px 0.75rem" class="ContentPasted0">The applicant should be prepared to work in an academic setting which emphasizes the importance of integrated collegial collaboration of transdisciplinary orientation.</p>
<p style="margin:0px 0px 0.75rem" class="ContentPasted0">The doctoral student is expected to carry out doctoral studies on location at Linköping University’s Campus in Norrköping.</p>
<p style="margin:0px 0px 0.75rem" class="ContentPasted0"><strong style="font-weight:bold" class="ContentPasted0">Your qualifications<br class="ContentPasted0">
</strong>The profile requires that the applicant has (1) graduated at master’s level, or completed courses with a minimum of 240 credits, at least 60 of which must be in advanced courses, or, alternatively, has gained essentially corresponding knowledge in
another way; and has at least 90 credits in disciplines of central relevance to the subject area of ethnic and migration studies; (2) demonstrated skills in the critical analysis of society and culture; (3) an appreciation of contemporary theoretical approaches
to social science, humanities and/or medicine; (4) an appreciation of methodological debates in the social sciences and humanities. The applicant should also show interest in socio-cultural and theoretical research on processes affecting ethnic relations,
cultural identities, migration, racism and/or definitions of citizenship in a transnational context. The positions requires good communication skills in written and spoken English.</p>

two years, depending on your progress through the study plan. The employment may be extended up to a maximum of five years, based on the amount of teaching and departmental duties you have carried out. Further extensions can be granted in special circumstances.</p>
