Dear colleagues,

I would like to invite you to an international lecture series “Planning in Transition: New concepts and challenges for sustainable urban and regional change“ which we are organising at Tema T. In this series we invite innovative thinkers to engage with contemporary challenges in urban and regional development related to e.g. the climate transition, digitalization or social inequality. The lectures should bring concepts from a range of academic fields such as STS, cultural, infrastructure, and transition studies as well as urban and regional planning in conversation with each other and help to re-frame these problems and deal with them in new ways in research and policy making. The plan is to have an international lecture every third week or so, usually Thursdays, 15-16:30 in TEMCAS/Tema building with possibility to mingle afterwards.

Our next speaker will be Prof. Tim Moss, Humboldt University Berlin, who will talk about ”Planning urban infrastructures across Berlin’s turbulent modern history”. In his work, Tim connects historical studies of infrastructure with contemporary debates on sociotechnical and urban transitions. See a flyer about the seminar enclosed. The seminar will take place on Thursday, 2 February, 15-16:30 in TEMCAS/Tema building.
