[Liuhum] Challenging the Collective Imaginary of Migration - Seminar and Movie Screening with Elsa Gomis 12/09 Tvärsnittet, Campus Norrköping

Dear all,

Elsa Gomis, artist, filmmaker and researcher at University of Oxford and Sweden's Royal Art Academy comes to Campus Norrköping next week on Thursday, September 12 for the seminar, "Challenging the Collective Imaginary of Migration"
The seminar co-organised by REMESO, LiU Humanities, and Tema Q. The seminar will be held in Tvärsnittet, Floor 3, Kopparhammaren 7.
Gomis' artistic research is applied to migration studies and the collective imaginary of migration. She has presented her research at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Valencia, at the University Oxford and at the Immigration Initiative at Harvard. Her films have notably been screened at the Independent Film Festival of Beirut and at the European House of Arts in Upper Bavaria.

In an extended event, her film "The People Behind the Scenes" tracing the iconologies that influence mainstream images of migration, will be screened as part of the MigraMovies series at CNEMA, at 18:00, after the seminar.
