VIDEO ARTIST LOOKING FOR
STUDENT AND STAFF PARTICIPANTS


I am an American artist doing my masters work at Malmö Art Academy and
beginning production of a video art installation to be exhibited in public
spaces around Linköping University in May 2005. The exhibition is a
collaboration between Akademiska Hus, Linköping University, and Malmö Art
Academy.

The concept of the video is to map the architectural layout of Linköping
University through a series of personal anecdotes of its students and staff.
I am seeking members of the University community who are willing to relate
stories or narratives of things that happened in specific places on the
University campus. The personal anecdotes will be dramatically recreated and
shot on video with actors and presented on monitors at the location where
the events originally took place. In doing so, I am hoping to reflect on the
official production of  histories of institutional spaces, and in this case,
bring to light histories that would likely be considered insignificant and
not memorable. By (re)staging history and memory as personal and subjective
account, I hope to subvert the conventional production of history as
official collective memory.

I am looking for anybody willing to discuss stories, events, and happenings
related to University locations, no matter how spectacular or banal. If
desired, I will maintain the anonymity of collaborators. Welcomed
collaboration could include help with screenplay, acting, and production
support.

OBS! Stories DO NOT need to be true or actual happenings. They can include
fantasies, desires, or dreams and nightmares (conscious or unconscious). The
only criteria is that they have a physical relation to a space or location
at Linköping University, which can include virtual space and private spaces
(offices, dorms).
