[LCSB] Next week is systems biology week

Dear colleagues,

next week will be a week with numerous events related to systems biology
here at LiU. As you might know, systems biology is a field that relies
on two pillars: handling of large amounts of "omics"-data, and
mathematical modelling, and both these axes will be represented at the
presentations next week (pres 1 and 2 mostly omics data, pres 3 modelling).

Monday 17/5, 15.30-17. Roland Nilsson (Harvard/Karolinska Institutet)
will present his research related to handling of omics-data, metabolism,
and modelling of type 2 diabetes. "Discovering regulators of metabolic
pathways through large-scale integration of gene expression data"
Campus-US, Almen.

Wednesday 19/5, 14-14.45 Mikael Benson (Gothenburg University,
coordinator of 2 systems biology FP7-networks) will present his
research. "Kan nätverksbaserad analys av genomik data användas för att
skräddarsy mediciner?" (might be in Swedish) Library of Children's
clinic, level 15, Campus-US, Hospital main building.

Thursday 20/5, 15.15-17 Student presentations from the systems biology
modelling project course TSRT17. First 45 minutes contains presentations
of modelling projects (insulin signalling models and liver and brain
models based on MRI-data). The last hour contains a poster session. C3,
C-house, Campus Valla
