Dear all,

LiU-Humanities, Tema Q (Linköping University, Sweden) and ICOFOM are organizing webinar Epistemology of Museologies
Date and time:
Wednesday 10 March 14:00-16:00 CET || 8:00-10:00 EST

Registration link to Zoom: https://liu-se.zoom.us/meeting/register/u5MscuqgrzIpHdQF5HvueEmccxcE60Bkzw7H

Since the emergence of “New Museology” in the 1980s, all kinds of museologies have been introduced along the way: sociomuseology, ecomuseology, transformative museology, reflexive museology, human rights museology, cybermuseology and post-critical museology to name just a few. We think it is time to bring together some of these strands and see how the disciplinary field can keep its social relevance. We are going to discuss what frames and lenses we are using when talking about “museologies” in plural – but also the dangers of scientific jargon and disciplinary fragmentations which might obscure the mechanisms and subjects of the study.

Speakers:
Mário Moutinho, Lusofone University, Portugal;
Anna Leshchenko, ICOFOM, Russia;
Armando Perla, University of Montréal, Canada
Moderator:
Olga Zabalueva, Linköping University, Sweden
