[LCSB] Half-day on modelling in systems biology, including discussions on core-facility formation

Dear all,

this Thursday, 10/2 at 13.30-16.15 in Hälsans hus, Lärosal 1, we will have a half-day devoted to systems biology at LiU.

The background to this particular half-day is that some 4-5 groups are starting to overlap more and more in terms of shared supervision of student projects, scientific collaborations etc. All these groups are doing experiments themselves, on different systems, but are collaborating over the modelling projects. The two main points for this half-day are as follows:

i) To give a short overview of what these different groups are doing, in particular focussing on the student projects that will go on during the spring semester

ii) To discuss how to formalize and externalize these collaborations from the isbgroup.eu at cellbiologen to a separate physical location, hopefully at IMT, which will constitute the embryo to a core-facility functionality. This core-facility will in itself constitute one of the functions of the Linköping Centre for Systems Biology, and which we will seek money for in the near future (see attachm).
